Not that any of that is a bad thing, but it's best to be honest about who you really are in terms of ideology. Having said that, you are a complex case.
You are obviously stunning, articulate, an excellent writer (your short blurbs in the paper don't do that justice, as evidenced by the quality of the writing on your blog), a business owner, and likely much more to the good. You are to be admired, that's for sure.
I consider myself to be center right, but I have to say that where there is smoke there is fire, and there's something about Joe Arpaio that just isn't right. I've resisted those feelings for years, despite all of the accusations of mismanagement, because he seemed to be aggressive and get results.
But when I hear that Randy Parraz allegedly spent $22K of his own money to defend what you characterize as a bogus, politically-charged arrest, that is where I start to smell smoke. Of course, that's Parraz's side of the story, so it is merely alleged.
I'm not the ardent Pearce basher that you and others have shown yourselves to be. I know some things about Jerry Lewis and his charter school employer that would make you realize that he isn't lily white either, and that his claims of being an educational savior are overblown. But people believe what they want to believe about Pearce, and often know more about his sins than I do, so I'll trust the vote of the people as apt judgment of his character (or lack thereof).
But with Arpaio, me smellum smoke. So I applaud your pro-activity in getting to know Randy Parraz, and 'revealing' certain things that most of us didn't know, if they are true.
Now let's hope your are genuine, and not an ideologue, because honest observations are welcome - writing blogs and articles where The Answer is "my ideology, so what can I write today to justify it?" is of little value. We already have Montini, Valdez and others carrying that worthless bucket.
But overall I'm impressed with you, and I can see how a center-right person could become center-left by relocating to Arizona. My beloved cousin Patricia Jones of Salt Lake City defected to the 'Dark Side' and, as a Democrat, is on the verge of bringing legitimacy to the Democrats in Utah, and she is no demagogue, so I understand some underlying negativity toward the Republicsns that I have sensed in your writings.
But people speak disparagingly of the Republican Supermajority as if that's a sin. It isn't. It is the will of the people, and all the little redistricting snafus that the Republic dramatizes are but a drop in the bucket of a very right-leaning state. The reality is that it takes an idiot like J.D. Hayworth to get a Democrat elected in Arizona and, fortunately for Arizona, he didn't survive the primary.

It would seem that we have much in common - or not - perhaps I'm confused.
Lifelong registered Republican, had Goldwater, Nixon, Miller visit our home... but this is not my Republican party... and it seems it isn't yours either.
Let me know how I can get involved in the sensible causes that we know exist and not the hate filled party they have become..
And now, how we can bring sanity back to our state?
