Primary Politics on Sunday Square Off
In case you missed my guest appearance on today's CH-12, Sunday Square Off, you can watch a video clip of the program by clicking HERE.
The topic? Primary politics, and last week's debate held in Arizona.
As a reader of my blog, you know that I have been very critical about the hard-right turn the Republican party has taken over the last few years, especially here in Arizona. And after watching this debate, I am even more convinced that Republicans must have a death wish.
It was cringe inducing watching Santorum, Romney, and Gingrich desperately trying to prove who is the most conservative, at a time when most of America is moving toward the center, and desperately trying to keep the conversation on real solutions for the 21-Century -- instead of taking us (especially women) back to the Dark Ages.
After watching this debate, I am even more convinced that barring an economic meltdown, or a military catastrophe, none of the remaining candidates can beat Obama in 2012.
Here is what Governor Jeb Bush had to say about the current direction of the Republican party.
“I used to be a conservative, and I watch these debates and I’m wondering, I don’t think I’ve changed, but it’s a little troubling sometimes when people are appealing to people’s fears and emotion rather than trying to get them to look over the horizon for a broader perspective, and that’s kind of where we are."
I could not agree more!
